Dating Smart: Your Safety Guide
Last Updated: March 1, 2026
At DIAMOUR, we are committed to promoting a respectful and secure environment for people to connect. We use a combination of technology, automated tools, and human review to help detect suspicious behavior and enforce our Community Guidelines. However, no online platform can guarantee the identity, intentions, or conduct of its users. Safety is a shared responsibility. While we work to protect the digital space, you are responsible for exercising judgment in your personal interactions.
Here are important guidelines to help protect your wellbeing, your data, and your peace of mind while dating.
1. Keep It on the App (At First)
We understand the urge to move conversations to WhatsApp or iMessage. However, we strongly recommend keeping conversations on DIAMOUR during the early stages.
Why? Our systems may detect and take action against accounts that send suspicious links, engage in abusive behavior, or violate our policies. Once you move communication off the platform, we cannot monitor interactions or provide support related to those conversations.
Be Cautious: If someone pressures you to leave the app immediately after matching, consider it a potential red flag.
2. The Golden Rule: Never Send Money
Never send money, financial information, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or investment funds to someone you have not met and built trust with in-person.
Common scams may involve stories about:
- Emergency medical expenses
- Visa or travel issues
- Frozen bank accounts
- Investment or cryptocurrency opportunities
A person genuinely interested in building a relationship should not request financial assistance from someone they have only met online.
If anyone asks you for money or financial favors, stop communication and report the account immediately.
3. Verify Before You Get Invested
Photos and profiles can be misleading or falsified. Before developing deeper trust or agreeing to meet:
- Use In-App Video Features: If available, use DIAMOUR’s in-app video tools to confirm the person matches their profile.
- Be Aware of Excuses: Repeated avoidance of video chat, consistently broken cameras, or reluctance to verify identity may indicate impersonation or misrepresentation.
Please note that profile verification tools help reduce risk but do not guarantee authenticity.
4. Protect Your Personal Information
Treat your personal data with care. Avoid sharing:
- Your home address
- Your workplace location
- Your daily routines or real-time location
- Government-issued ID documents
- Social Security Numbers, tax IDs, banking details, or similar sensitive data
Consider adjusting your device settings to limit precise location sharing.
DIAMOUR will never ask you to send personal documents via chat.
5. Meeting in Real Life (IRL)
Meeting in person can be exciting. For early meetings, consider the following precautions:
- Choose Public Locations: Coffee shops, restaurants, and busy public areas are safer choices. Avoid private homes, hotel rooms, or isolated areas for initial meetings.
- Inform Someone You Trust: Share your plans with a trusted friend or family member.
- Arrange Your Own Transportation: Use your own vehicle or reputable ride-share services. Avoid being picked up from your home on a first date.
DIAMOUR is not responsible for the conduct of users during in-person meetings. Always prioritize your personal safety.
6. Respect Your Instincts
Trust your judgment.
- End conversations that make you uncomfortable.
- Slow down if someone is moving too fast emotionally.
- Unmatch or block at any time.
You are never obligated to continue communication or provide explanations.
7. Image-Based Abuse & Sextortion Awareness
Do not share intimate or explicit images with someone you have not met and deeply trust.
If someone:
- Pressures you for explicit content
- Threatens to share private images
- Attempts to blackmail you
Do not comply. Preserve evidence and report the account immediately.
We take reports of image-based abuse seriously and may take action including account suspension, permanent bans, and referral to relevant authorities where appropriate.
8. Zero Tolerance for Abuse
DIAMOUR aims to maintain a respectful community. We do not permit:
- Harassment or bullying
- Unsolicited sexual content
- Hate speech
- Threats or coercion
- Impersonation or fraudulent behavior
Reports may be reviewed by automated systems and/or members of our team. We investigate reports and take action in accordance with our policies, which may include warnings, content removal, temporary suspension, permanent account termination, or referral to law enforcement where legally required.
We cannot disclose the outcome of specific enforcement actions.
9. Child Safety
DIAMOUR is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We prohibit:
- Accounts operated by minors
- Solicitation of minors
- Any form of child exploitation
Accounts reasonably suspected of involving minors may be suspended while investigated. Any account found to belong to a minor or involved in the solicitation of minors will be permanently banned. Where required by applicable law, we will report relevant information to appropriate authorities.
If you suspect a user is under 18 or engaging in inappropriate conduct involving minors, report the account immediately using the in-app reporting tools. Go to the user's profile, tap the Report (Shield Icon), and select "Child Safety". This prioritizes the report for immediate investigation by our safety team.
10. Emergencies
If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
- United States & Canada: 911
- United Kingdom: 999 (emergency) or 101 (non-emergency police)
- Australia: 000
DIAMOUR cannot provide emergency response services.
